Casey’s to add 2 Sioux Falls locations

Southeast and northwest Sioux Falls will be the newest locations for Casey’s General Stores.

The Iowa-based gas station and convenience store company purchased land at 1600 E. 69th Street, east of Cliff Avenue in the new Stadium Crossing development.

“We have been working on securing a site in this area for years,” said Ryan Tysdal of Van Buskirk Cos., who represents Casey’s. “We’re very excited to finally be able to announce this location.”

The proximity to Sioux Falls Christian was a draw for Casey’s, along with all the surrounding neighborhoods, according to Tysdal.

“Coffee, doughnuts, pizza, sandwiches, pop – this will become a daily stop for many in the area,” he added.

Stadium Crossing is a new mixed-use development by Signature Cos., made up of retail and restaurant uses, along with a multifamily residential project.

Other retail will include a B&G Milkyway and a retail center with Cookie Co., Glamour Nails, Starbucks and Year Round Brown.

“Clint (Ackerman) and his entire team at Signature have been great to work with. They’ve really done a nice on this development,” Tysdal said.

In addition to the 69th Street location, Casey’s also has plans to break ground this year on a site at Benson Road and Louise Avenue.

“Casey’s was attracted to the northwest Sioux Falls area for a multitude of reasons,” Tysdal said. “Large employers and higher education institutions in the area, Interstate 29 traffic and the Sanford Sports Complex really made Benson Road a logical site.”

Casey’s currently has nine Sioux Falls locations.
