Goodbye WordPress; hello Jekyll and Markdown – danwin.com

WordPress is great software, but the fact that it takes many minutes to just publish a simple, HTML-error-ridden post has kept me from updating this blog. So I’m planning on doing future blogging at blog.danwin.com. It takes a little time to set up the Jekyll instance, and I’ll over-obsess over the design details. But at least I’ll be improving my hacking skills, as opposed to struggling with the monolith that is WordPress. At some point, I’ll figure out a way to intelligently migrate posts from danwin.com. But if all I end up doing is writing new posts to blog.danwin.com in good ol’ Markdown, that’s still a victory for me.
